Elliot Chorny and the Stabbing of a 6 year old in Halifax (Feb 23, 2025)
/Shocking Attack in Downtown Halifax: Six-Year-Old Boy Stabbed, Suspect Charged with Attempted Murder
A horrifying act of violence occured in downtown Halifax on Sunday afternoon when a six-year-old boy was stabbed multiple times at a bus stop on Barrington Street in Halifax. Scotia Square.
Halifax Regional Police responded around 1:20 p.m., where they found the young victim suffering from life-threatening injuries. Paramedics rushed him to the IWK Health Centre, where he remains hospitalized as of Monday.
Suspect in Custody
Police arrested a 19-year-old female Elliott Chorny, of no fixed address, at the scene.
Chorny was initially charged with aggrevated assault however those charges have been upgraded to attempted murder and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose(knives). Authorities have confirmed that there was no known connection between the victim and the suspect.
Chorny is facing separate assault charges related to a Jan 27th incident. Details of this incident has yet to become public.
A woman who claims to be a close family member of Elliot Chorny has stated that the family has been actively seeking help for her “for years” but didn’t elaborate on what the problems are/were.
Police Seeking Witnesses
Investigators are asking for anyone who witnessed the attack or has video footage from the area around the time of the incident to contact them at 902-490-5020.
