A workplace death at a Halifax, Nova Scotia Walmart has become international news due to the incident’s unimaginably horrific circumstances.

19 year old Gursimran Kaur and her mother worked together at a Halifax Walmart. During their evening shift on Oct 19th, Gursimran’s mother grew increasingly worried after not seeing her daughter for over an hour. She searched the store, asking coworkers for help. In this episode I share what we know about the circumstances of Gursimran’s death and do my best to understand how this may have happened.

Francesco Villi and the 2022 Vaughan, Ontario Condo Tragedy

For several years, 73-year-old Francesco Villi, a resident of a Vaughan, Ontario condo, waged a relentless campaign of harassment against the building's condo board and anyone else who challenged his belief that flaws in the building’s design were flooding his unit with toxic fumes and harmful electromagnetic interference.

After multiple court battles, a breached peace bond, and countless confrontations in the hallways, both sides of the dispute turned to their most extreme measures.

For the condo management, that meant pursuing a court order to force Villi to sell his unit.

For Villi, it meant something far more tragic.

In this episode of Nighttime, we delve into the story of Francesco Villi and the 2022 Vaughan, Ontario condo tragedy

Justice for Talia Forrest (10 year old victim of drunk driver Colin Tweedie)

Cape Breton, Nova Scotia

10 year old Talia Forrest and a friend were riding their bikes on Black Rock Road when they noticed the oncoming car that seemed to be driving erratically passing back and forth across the center line.

Moments later Talia was nowhere to be seen, and the car continued on, dragging Talia's bike with it for over a kilometer.

A tip to the police would lead them to a local man, 27 year old Colin Tweedie.

Initially, his story was that his girlfriend was driving... but the story has changed many times since then. The constant, is that he believed the very much loved 10 year old girl he killed was a deer so he didn't stop.

But, Colin Tweedie isn't the only one who didn't stop. Talia's loved ones, and their army of supporters have not stopped demanding Justice for Talia.

Tonight, in this episode of Nighttime, Talia's family spokesperson Halen Williams will join me to discuss their demand for Justice for Talia Forrest.

the Story of Rocky Rambo Wei Nam Kam (with Jack Luna)

When Dianna Mah-Jones uncharacteristically missed a meeting, a co-worker went to her house to check on her. What was found in the home was aftermath of one of Vancouver’s most horrific crimes.

The double murder of 65 year old Dianna Mah-Jones and her 68 year old husband Richard Jones was as brutal as it is senseless.

When the suspect, 25 year old Rocky Rambo Wei Nam Kam, was questioned he seemed more interested in talking to police about video games then what happened inside the home.

In fact, video games would become a major part of the case… as Rocky Rambo’s defense is that he thought he was in one when the elderly couple were brutally murdered.

Bernie Herman and the murder of Braden Herman

Prince Albert, SK - May 11, 2021

Bernie Herman has been with the RCMP for over 30 years and at 55 years old, retirement was inching closer every day.

With a wife at home, children grown, and grandchildren to enjoy, you would expect the veteran Mountie was anxious spend his golden years stretching out in the life he spent a lifetime building.

But, that's far from the way Bernie's story goes.

For reasons we may never fully understand, Bernie formed a friendship with a young man he met on facebook and that relationship evolved into something between a father/son dynamic and an extramarital affair.

What we do know, is that whatever motivated and nurtured the relationship isn't what ended it.

While in his uniform, and with his RCMP issued firearm, Bernie shot his 25 year old lover dead in a wooded area on the outside of town. Evidence suggests he drove over his naked body as he left the scene.

Part 1

In this episode Madelayne Klein and I will discuss the story Bernie Herman, and the murder of Braden Herman.

Part 2 - Coming Soon

In this episode we will continue our coverage of Bernie Herman and the murder of Braden Herman.

In this episode we will be joined by Braden’s brother Brett to discuss the story of Bernie Herman and the murder of his brother Braden.

the 1994 C.P. Allen High School Cow Incident (Halifax, Nova Scotia)

Ryan Sommers has a rather remarkable story to tell.

Back in 1994, when he was a student at C.P. Allen High School, he was involved in an economics project in which groups of students started businesses.

Ryan's group decided on running a sort of gambling scenario that involved bringing a cow to the school's sports field, and having people wager bets on where it would first poop.

As you will hear in this episode, the entire event went horribly wrong, and resulted in a cow chase involving RCMP, animal control officers, and large groups of excited school kids.
