In the past Nighttime has spent a considerable amount of time discussing the stories of strange lights in our skies.

We may get to some of them tonight as well but rather than focusing on the lights in the sky, in this episode, we are going to consider what happens when the damn things crash to the ground.

In this episode of Nighttime, Canadian UFO researcher Chris Rutkowski and I discuss Canada’s history with UFO crashes and review some recent UFO reports submitted via the UFOs Above Canada Facebook group.

Elon Musk Is Responsible For Many Canadian UFO Reports (aka what is the starlink satellite constellation)

Listeners of Nighttime, consider this episode a sort of public service.

This episode has the power to ease the minds of many people out there who feel they have witnessed a fleet of alien invaders in the skies above Canada.

The story usually manifests itself in one of two ways; it's either a photo showing a series of aerial lights in a straigh line, or a witness account from someone who saw a series of objects flying one after the other in a sort of liner formation.

Well, if you see this type of photo or hear this story don’t immediatly rush to your emergency shelter.

ELON MUSK, the billionaire inventor and entrepreneur may very well be behind in.

In fact, Elon musk may be partly responsible for the rise in Canadian UFO reports.

Canada's UFO Secrets Are Less Secret Than You Think (with Daniel Otis)

A large cache of UFO reports recently found their way to the public eye thanks in part to the investigative reporting of a Canadian journalist named Daniel Otis.

See, Daniel happened upon a database in which those involved in aviation report occurrences that could affect the safety and operation of our countries aircraft, airports, and airspace.

and speckled amongst the many mundane reports of flat tires, rocky landings, and faulty valves are unexplainable reports of anomalous objects, being witness and reported by our countries aviators.

This may not be the smoking gun, or act of government disclosure we have been waiting for but it is certainly a collection of credible reports to be taken very seriously.

and tonight we are going to hear all about it.

The Carp, Ontario 'Guardian' UFO Case - Part 2 - a discussion with Chris Rutkowski

In the last episode, my guest Ian Rogers spoke both about his experiences investigating the Guardian case as well as the route this story took to being featured on a major CBC Documentary ‘UFO Town’.

When I was putting that episode together I learned that my friend, and past guest of the show, Chris Rutkowski was one of the ufo investigators who received Guardian's mailings back in the 80s and 90s.

I also learned that Chris was invited, but declined, to participate in ‘UFO TOWN’.

I thought Chris would be the perfect person to invite here to help me both further break down the case, and discuss the UFO town documentary.

The Carp, Ontario 'Guardian' UFO Case - Part 1 - a discussion with Ian Rogers

the Carp, Ontario UFO case widely centers on an anonymous whistle blower using the name 'Guardian' who for a period in the early 90s sent strange packages to UFO researchers around the world claiming that world government’s were attempting to cover up the crash of an extraterrestrial craft just outside of Ottawa in Carp, Ontario. The packages included a rambling manifesto, photographs of purported aliens, and perhaps most interesting, a vhs tape containing video of what was supposed to be a flying saucer.

Despite significant attempts Guardian was never identified.

in fact.. they are still trying.

Our guest is just the fella to walk as through this case.

Ian Rogers is a present day author, but in the early 90s when the investigation into the guardian case was active, Ian was a teenage UFO investigator who managed to walk right into the middle of one of Canada's most bizarre cases.

In this episode, Ian shares the stranger than fiction story of the Carp, Ontario “Gaurdian” UFO Case.

the Life of Stanton T. Friedman; Canada's Flying Saucer Physicist (featuring Paul Kimball)

Stanton T. Friedman was a nuclear physicist and professional Ufologist who resided in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. After a career working on research and development projects for several large companies, he left his profession to follow his obsession with flying saucers. Although most well known as the original civilian investigator of the Roswell UFO incident, Stanton has travelled the world over providing lectures on the topic of flying saucers.

What’s up with the Pentagon and UFOs? (with MJ Banias)

This story starts several years ago when a series of videos were leaked from Defense industry insiders. What made the footage so interesting is that it was filmed using highly advanced weapon systems from American fighter jets and it appeared to show some kind of aerial objects displaying flight capabilities far beyond what is known to exist.

Given the unofficial leaking of the footage, the video's origins were always accompanied with doubt, speculation, and rumor… But things are different now.

The United states department of defense has recently authenticated, declassified, and officially released these videos and they did so while fully disclosing that they are unable to explain the aerial objects being tracked by their fighter jets.

the Falcon Lake UFO Incident

For over 50 years a revolving door of civilian and government investigators have attempted to provide an explanation for the Falcon Lake UFO Incident, yet it remains an enigma. 

What is known is that in 1967, just months prior to the other famous Canadian UFO event in Shag Harbour, a man stumbled out of the woods in rural Manitoba disoriented, vomiting, and badly burned. 

This wasn't a bonfire gone wrong or anything to do with alcohol however. 

The story this man told, and maintained until his death in 1999, was that he encountered a UFO, and got injured in the process. 

In this episode of Nighttime, Canadian UFO researcher Chris Rutkowksi shares details of the Falcon Lake event and in doing so explains why this event has remained such a major part of Canada's UFO story.

Was it a Sasquatch in Northwestern Ontario?

For me, it all started on an average day in November. I woke up, poured a coffee, and swiped open my phone to see what was what in the world. 

Instead of finding local news and pictures of social media influencer’s breakfast, I was face to face with an agitated mob that seemed to have my email and social media accounts surrounded. Fortunately, it wasn't a lynch mob. In place of torches and pitchforks they all just had their phones out showing me a viral video taken on October 3rd by a hunter out looking for partridge with his wife and grandchild in rural Ontario. The video itself isn't much to look at, it’s little more than a still image of a treeline. 

It's the sound of the video that makes this special. 

The hunter, 39 year old Gino Meekis, started filming after being started by a howl unlike any he had never heard before. 

After sharing the video to Youtube people took notice.

Just like Gino, No one could agree on what animal was heard in the video. But, there was one group on the fringes of the discussion who did recognize this almost human howl and they confident they knew what it was. 

They thought it was Bigfoot and they considered Gino's video proof that there ARE Sasquatch in Northwestern Ontario.

Two Chilling Tales from Haunted New Brunswick (with Steve Vernon)

An October phonecall inviting Steve Vernon, my favorite local horror author, to appear on Nighttime has become a Halloween tradition.

For the fourth year in a row, He agreed to share his tales of terror and bloodshed.

The plan we came up with was similar to prior years, but with a few twists.

I got the idea during a recent walk through a nearby forest, while lost in both my headphones and the twisting trails, I happened upon an abandoned and long overgrown hunting type shack that I thought would be a perfect spot to drag Steve and my mobile studio to.

To take full advantage of the ambience of an old growth forest, I asked steve he he would pull some stories from a prior story collection he released called Wicked Woods; Ghost stories from Old New Brunswick.

The Bell Island Boom

When one imagines the setting for a story involving experimental weapons, international espionage, unexplained aerial anomalies, and cold war anxieties...  they probably aren’t picturing a tranquil island in Newfoundland. 

But, there is no imagining about it, Bell island, Newfoundland, is just that.

This all stems from a still unexplained aerial explosion that rocked the skies about the island, and set in motion a series of bizarre events that seemed pulled from the pages of a science fiction novel.

The entire ordeal still leaves those who lived through it scratching their heads, but one thing is without question, for a moment in 1978, Canadian and American defense satellites detected more light reflecting from this island than what was seen during the bombing of Hiroshima and we aren’t certain why.

In life, Granger Taylor was known as something between an eccentric mechanic and a mad genius. At present day, he is known around the world as the man who left a note explaining he had gone on an interstellar voyage aboard a UFO and was never seen again.

Was it a Sasquatch in Pictou County, NS?

In 2015, When I first launched Nighttime, One of the first requests I made to listeners was for story ideas that took place in, or in some way involved, the forest.

The first response I received, lead me to this episodes story.

Myles MacKenzie sent me an email sharing the story of an animal encounter he and some high school friends had in the woods of Pictou County Nova Scotia. 

Actually, "Animal Encounter" is a bit of and understatement. Don't roll your eyes before you hear the story but, Myles and his friends, they believe they encountered the legendary Bigfoot. 

It happened back in 2003, when Myles and a few members of his track team were running sprints in the dense woods of the Green hill provincial park. 

Whatever the group encountered, it wasn't like anything they nor their coach had experienced before or since. Nor was nothing they would ever forget.

Tonight in this episode of Nighttime, we will be joined by both Myles MacKenzie as well as his high school track coach, his father Stephen MacKenzie.

Our Topic, will be Pictou County's surprising history, with Bigfoot.

Three Chilling Tales from Haunted Nova Scotia (with Steve Vernon)

Some of my earliest scares occurred late at night, in the days leading up to Halloween, with a flashlight and a book of spooky stories.

Individually the stories may span just a few pages, but with each one the authors managed to drag young minds along to places more horrifying than they could have ever imagined.

In this Halloween special, Nighttime will again take inspiration from these books and dress itself up as a collection of scary stories.

Tonight you will hear three chilling stories from haunted Nova Scotia... written and read by my favorite Horror Author, Steve Vernon.

UFOs Above Canada - 4 - Reporting the 2018 Dairy Queen UFO Event

When considering the next topic to cover, I turned to the UFOs Above Canada facebook group for recommendations. As I took note of the many great ideas the group members shared, something else that caught my attention.

Two people from opposite corners of Canada posted details of their recent UFO sightings. The reports were different in nearly every way, but had one commonality. Each solicited help identifying the anomalous object and requested advice on where next to turn.

Immediately this episode's topic, Reporting a UFO, was the obvious next step, but I never expected it to show up on my doorstep the way it did.

Just as I began research for this episode, the gods of podcasting and whomever controls the strange objects in the sky saw to it that I would get a person lesson in UFO reporting.

In this episode, I'll share the story of my 5 year old son Dominic's recent UFO sighting, our experience reporting it, and share the findings of the investigation that followed.
